We're a small, independent family-run chalet company in the Paradiski, now in our 16th season. We have 5 lovely, ski-in/ski-out chalets, each with a luxury hot tub, log fire and beautiful views of the mountains. Apart from flights, we organise everything for our guests including transfers, lessons, ski hire, and lift passes. We're based in Montchavin and Les Coches in La Plagne - it's the best place to stay if you love skiing/boarding, as you are right in the middle of the Paradiski, so you can ski both Les Arcs and La Plagne easily. Both of these resorts are very friendly with bars and restaurants, so you will find it really easy to make friends with other seasonnaires and also the locals. We employ professional chefs with experience in fine dining restaurants, who can design their own menus and plate up beautifully presented food; our hosts are bubbly, professional and friendly, and we have a high number of returning guests who love our food, service and chalets. Our driver-maintenance staff are extremely competent in driving in snow and ice, able to turn their hand at all DIY jobs, and are very friendly and courteous. We know that having a great team is one of the most important factors of a fantastic skiing holiday, so we take recruitment very seriously. We want people that join our friendly team to feel proud of the company they work for, get the best training, feel appreciated and ultimately have a great time in the Alps – and over the years, we have been lucky to have a high number of returning staff.
What makes your company different from the competition?
We are in the top 2 in Les Coches and Montchavin on tripadvisor. We were nominated as UK Best Chalet Company in the 2014 World Snow Awards; we were voted one of the Best 50 Alpine chalets in the Daily Telegraph. We consistently get 5* reviews on tripadvisor.
We have a high number of happy, returning guests who love our chalets and what we do.
As a small family-run company with 5 lovely chalets in La Plagne, we really look after our staff - so you won't just be a number in a large organisation. It's really important to us that our staff feel proud of the company they are working for, and want to be part of our team. We also want our staff to get enough skiing time, love Montchavin La Plagne and have a great season with us.
How many people do you employ or train each year?
11 (5 chalet couples and 1 driver/maintenance person)
Why are you a good company to work for or train with?
We're a small business and our staff are a core part of what we do - so unlike many larger firms, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference.
We offer almost 3 weeks' training before the start of the season so that when first guests arrive, you are fully prepared and ready with in-depth knowledge on how we work, the skiing, the chalets and the resort. We'll spend plenty of time in the supermarket so that you can get a real understanding of what produce is available and budgets, and also time for the chefs to get together to fine-tune and test their own menus.
Although we offer a high level of dining, we don't ask our chefs to spend all day in the kitchen, preparing 7-course tasting menus - so this position is highly sought-after as you'll get plenty of skiing time.
