Caring for vulnerable children in orphanages and medical centres, or birds and animals in wildlife sanctuaries can be an emotionally difficult yet incredibly rewarding way to spend your year abroad. Perhaps you are going on to study medicine at university and would benefit from some practical work experience, or maybe you just want to lend a hand to people who need help. You do not require any previous experience for the vast majority of these projects, just a willingness to learn.
