Caledonian Discovery offers cruising holidays with outdoor activities along the Great Glen in the Scottish Highlands. We have two large converted barges each one taking up to 12 guests with a maximum of 6 crew. We look for friendly, dedicated staff to contribute to a fun, relaxed and safe atmosphere aboard for the summer season. The barges cruise through stunning scenery and the holidays are enhanced by wonderful food and a wide range of activities. Fingal of Caledonia mainly offers guided walking and biking holidays and has open canoes available for occasional use. Ros Crana has canoes and sailing boats and we offer sessions led by our guide or skipper for sailing and canoeing, as well as the usual walking and biking options.
How many people do you employ or train each year?
We employ 8 full-time crew between our two barges, as well as a handful of shore-based support staff.

We offer our seasonal crew competitive pay, as well as food and accommodation during the weeks worked on the barges.
We also generally work on a rotation of 4-weeks on followed by 2 weeks off, or 3 weeks on followed by 1 week off, so our crew enjoy a good work-life balance and have plenty of time during the season to follow their other summer passions, or perhaps pursue further training.
