Oyster Worldwide offer over 60 paid and volunteer projects in 23 countries across the globe. Oyster are dedicated to offering experiences with a purpose that are beneficial not only to the participants but also to the local communities and environment. We are a dedicated team who take the time to get to know our participants. We thoroughly research and hand pick of all our projects to ensure that they live up to our high standards.

What makes your company different from similar gap year providers?
Oyster Worldwide offer a very personal service with detailed preparation and support before, during and when you return from travel. Pre-departure services include an interview and a personalised portal with all the details about your project and what to expect. We advise on safety, cultural issues, flights, what to take, currency and what life will be like in your chosen destination. Oyster Worldwide pride themselves on selecting projects that we believe are genuinely worthwhile. Every project has been visited by a member of the Oyster team and vetted for excellence.

How many people do you take on your gap years each year?
Each year over hundreds of people choose to travel and take part in paid and volunteer projects with Oyster Worldwide. Although we are based in the UK, we happily accept applicants from all over the world and have many applying. Our animal conservation programmes are very popular and we send lots of people on adventurous trips to work on projects such as elephant and turtle rehabilitation. Canada ski season jobs are also very popular each year, as is paid farm, horse and city work in Australia and New Zealand.

Why are you a good company to travel or work with?
We offer a wide range of opportunities in volunteering, teaching, paid work, paid ski seasons and family expeditions. For many, an Oyster Worldwide project may be a first trip away from home or it may be something that you have always wanted to do and have never been able to find a way how to. We offer continued support and advice before departure to make sure that you are fully prepared for your trip ahead. That support continues whilst you are overseas from our local representatives, project partners and the Oyster HQ in the UK.
As well as helping communities in a positive way, our participants develop new levels of confidence, maturity and independence. Expect to develop skills and memories that will last a lifetime and make lots of new friends and contacts along the way.
