The Georgian House Situated on the cobbled streets of St Anne, the family-run Georgian House is a pub with rooms at the heart of the magical island of Alderney in the Channel Islands. We are currently recruiting for a number of roles to join our team for the upcoming summer season. You will get the chance to work with an experienced, energetic team and use superb local ingredients with some of the finest seafood available in the UK.
What makes your company different from the competition?
We are a team that works hard and plays hard. Alderney is a special place that has a community feel and a great social life which The Moorings and The Georgian House are central to. If you come to Alderney you are guaranteed to make some fantastic and unforgettable memories.
‘Everyone on the island winds up at The Georgian House at some point, having Normandy moules and cider in the garden and later singing sea shanties and dancing like nobody's watching to live bands. The restaurant is possibly Alderney's best, and there are four new rooms upstairs added by young owner Holly Chandler, who divides her time between Alderney and the Alps, accounting for such cosmopolitan oddities as lobster sliders and Farrow & Ball paint.’

How many people do you employ or train each year?
We employ a number of permanent staff and every spring recruit a team of summer staff.
Why are you a good company to work for or train with?
Working with us:
We're looking to build a superb summer team with bucket loads of experience and enthusiasm with a passion for great food and service. We strive to exceed our customer's expectations in all areas. Our aim is to produce a menu that makes the most of the fantastic local produce the island has to offer, the seafood is on tap and is second to none, not to mention the local dairy, beef and pork farm and home-grown vegetables. We pride ourselves not only on our food but on our friendly and attentive service with discreet efficiency. It is an attractive and lively drinking place and includes a garden bar serving real ales, a varied wine list and cocktails. Throughout the season there are live comedy and music acts. We need a team that will work well together under pressure with exceptionally high standards and good work ethic; bringing with them energy and knowledge, and most importantly knowing how to have fun and to enjoy their surroundings! We look after our team and work hard together as well as enjoying everything that beautiful Alderney has to offer (see island info). We provide a high standard of staff accommodation, a competitive salary and great perks.
Alderney is the most northerly Channel Island and is only 9 miles from France. It is 3 miles by 1.5 miles, steeped in history and spectacular scenery. It is lined with dramatic cliffs and beautiful low-lying beaches with white sands. If you're looking to escape and try something a little different this summer, then you won't be disappointed. Alderney is a great place to save money even though there is plenty to do on the island; beaches, fishing, tennis, squash, golf, paddle boarding, boat trips, beach BBQs, cycling, plentiful restaurants, pubs, camping, exploring and tranquillity. For somewhere so small it has a great deal to offer, Alderney has something quite unique with its quirky charm and character welcoming people with a laid back and carefree attitude that seems to have escaped most nowadays, not to mention the ‘bunker parties’ (all night raves in the old fortifications)!http://www.visitalderney.com/
