Q. Hi, Can you tell me a little bit about Mount Batten and what type of Courses you offer?

The Mount Batten Centre is superbly situated on the shores of Plymouth Sound, giving easy access to the stunning coastal waters of South Devon. The Centre delivers a wide range of land and water based activities to the people of Plymouth and further afield. We are presently offering; an Intensive Instructor training course, Royal Yachting Association and British Canoeing courses, a Schools and Youth programme providing both residential, non-residential and school holiday activities, Duke of Edinburgh Residentials and BTEC support programmes working in partnership with local schools.

Q, On your Intensive Instructor course you cover off a lot of land and water based activities in the duration of the course you must have to be really fit to manage all of those in 13 weeks?

You do need a reasonable level of fitness to get the most on our Intensive Instructor course - but we are not looking for triathletes! The course is structured to ease people into the training so that by the end of the course when they are being assessed as instructors they are hitting peak fitness
